Guarding Against "Unwise-ness"
Ephesians 5:17
Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit
Understanding is your guard against "unwise-ness." Being filled with the Spirit of God leaves no room for bad influences. The New Testament Greek word for "understanding" means,
"To set or bring to together. To put perception with the thing perceived." Good understanding requires holding the right things in mind. GIGO ("Garbage In Garbage Out") is a computer data entry term. If bad data goes in, it will be impossible to get good output.
Knowing God's will is not a mystery. Good inputs such as prayer, reading/doing the Word, walking in love and forgiveness, and having a teachable spirit will always produce the output of understanding the will of the Lord.
