DAY 4 - Simple vs. Prudent | Wisdom Becomes You October Devotional
Proverbs 14:15 A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.
We live in a world full of traps, tricks and trouble. God's promise is peace, power, and provision. The turning point is often found in our mindset, or more specifically to the level of prayerful and preparation thought we apply. As the proverb said, "A simple man believes anything." In this use of the word, "simple" means "naive; lacking in experience, wisdom, or judgment." Prudent means, "acting with or showing care and thought for the future."
Most traps, tricks, and trouble prey on simple or naive persons, or instances of the same in all of us. I can recall mistakes I've made for a lack of giving adequate thought to my steps. God's promise to you of His peace and power are always present. We only need to push past the "simple" and reach into "prudence."
The solution is simple: Walk in the second half of the verse and not in the first half.
Reflection Question: In what areas do your need to push past simple and into prudence?
