John 8:31, Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

1 Corinthians 4:1-2, Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful....7 For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

Paul used the word “steward” which is oikonomos (οἰκονόμος) in the Greek. It was a word understood by people in his day. Oikonomos was the “major domo” or the person in charge of the administration of the house or estate.

Most importantly, a good steward received an unlimited supply.
