The Steward's Blessing: Wisdom, Provision, Empowerment
Romans 14:12, So then each of us shall give account of himself to God
1 Corinthians 4:1-2, Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. 7 For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
Paul used the word “steward” which is oikonomos (οἰκονόμος) in the Greek.
It was a word understood by people in his day. Oikonomos was the “major domo” or the person in charge of the administration of the house or estate.
Being a good steward brings and produces WISDOM, PROVISION & EMPOWERMENT
WISDOM: Knowing what to do
PROVISION: Fully supply from the owner
EMPOWERMENT: Able to empower others
Our Level of Stewardship is Evident
Proverbs 24:30-32, I went by the field of the lazy man, And by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding; 31 And there it was, all overgrown with thorns; Its surface was covered with nettles; Its stone wall was broken down. 32 When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction:
