2 Corinthians 4:16, Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
Colossians 3:15, And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
“Let peace rule…”
To be an umpire; To decide, determine, arbitrate
Place peace in a position to determine how to handle every situation
Don’t decide based on the problem. Decide based on creating or sustaining peace
John 14:25-28, These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Psalm 37:1, Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.
Two Kinds of Peace
1. Peace is a state where one is in right relationship with God.
2. Peace is a mental/emotional state where there is an absence of conflict and freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts. We call this “peace of mind.”
Philippians 4:7, And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Peace is beyond your comprehension
Peace will guard your hearts and minds, like sentinel
